The Mayor of La Matanza and President of the Argentine Federation of Municipalities, Fernando Espinoza, in coordination with the Mayor of Bahía Blanca, Federico Susbielles, organized an emergency operation to provide the most needed assistance to the Bahía Blanca municipality and its families. The first unit sent includes a significant amount of donations from Matanza residents, including mattresses, blankets, and non-perishable food items. The first unit also includes a team of volunteers and Civil Defense personnel from the district, specially trained in disasters and emergencies.
The Municipality of La Matanza, led by Mayor Fernando Espinoza, is receiving all types of donations for those affected by the tragic storm that struck Bahía Blanca. To this end, the local government has set up various collection points in all the district’s towns, where mattresses, blankets, bottled water, non-perishable food items, and warm clothing, among other supplies, are being received.
From day one, Mayor Fernando Espinoza organized the deployment of assistance and, after coordinating with the Mayor of Bahía Blanca, Federico Susbielles, decided to send a humanitarian aid team and local Civil Defense personnel, specialized in disasters and emergencies, with tools, equipment, and vehicles to join the relief efforts in the area. The contingent departed with a truck carrying a significant amount of donations, a product of the immense solidarity of the residents of La Matanza, such as mattresses, blankets, and non-perishable food items.
The “All for Bahía Blanca” solidarity campaign continues in the district’s towns, where the entire community can drop off donations such as: bottled drinking water, non-perishable food items, cleaning and personal hygiene products, warm clothing, blankets, sheets, mattresses, and towels.
