This is what Martina Gómez, a member of the Youth of the Frente Renovador, a new space in Matanza politics, expressed. She also pointed out that they want to “transform a little the idea of how a political youth is built” and “challenge a little these more traditional structures of political party militancy.”

The Frente Renovador de la Juventud in the municipality of La Matanza is taking shape with a clear objective: to build a youth political space with its own identity. Martina Gómez, one of its leaders, highlights the importance of this initiative and the path taken so far.
“There was a very small group that mobilized in the elections, but the organization of the structure of the Frente Renovador de la Juventud in the municipality of La Matanza did not exist. Today, after a lot of work, we are arriving, we are landing on a new adventure in a really important municipality,” explained Gómez.
Since she was 12 years old, the young woman has been involved in activism, starting in the organization Jóvenes por el Clima Argentina. Her participation in the Frente Renovador began two years ago, just before the presidential elections.
When asked about her political choice, she said: “I think that the country project that Sergio (Massa) proposed to us in the 23rd elections really fit with my ideas, with my projection of the Argentina that I want.”
One of the objectives of the space is to strengthen unity within Peronism. “As youth, I think that today we have to represent, more than ever, with Peronism, the opposition in a really complex situation,” she said.
She also highlighted that her group is related to Malena Galmarini, although she clarified that “it is an organization of the youth and for the youth in the municipality of La Matanza. We want to come and transform a little the idea of how a political youth is built” and “challenge a little these more traditional structures of political party militancy”.
Regarding the possibility of coordinating with other sectors of Peronism in La Matanza, Gómez reaffirmed: “We raise the same flag, we are all against this government and we are eager to work together with the rest of the comrades who are in the municipality. We do not have any kind of limitation in that sense”. In that sense, he mentioned that unity must be a concrete reality and not just a slogan.
The space seeks to establish a reference in each locality of the district. “The idea is to start building in areas such as Lomas del Mirador, Tablada, Villa Madero and Villa Celina, which is where we have the most territorial presence, and as they join, move forward”, he explained.
“We want to visit every corner of the municipality, even though it is very large and surely that will take many years, but we have the idea of building something in the future that can represent those of us who believe and want Sergio Massa as president”, he indicated.
The launch of the space is in development and Gómez described it as “totally open.” In addition, she commented that they are already coordinating meetings with different sectors to debate and discuss proposals. Despite recognizing the complexity of Matanzas politics, she assured that they have been received “with open arms” and that they will work together.
Finally, the leader said: “We want a fair Argentina, we want the country to come first over individual interests and we are going to campaign for that.”
