The officer was walking to work and was assaulted by the criminals, whom he shot at least five times. The motorcycle they were riding was stolen.
A new episode of insecurity occurred this morning in the town of San Antonio de Padua, east of the Merlo district: a police officer killed a pair of motorcycle thieves who tried to rob him while he was on his way to work.
The assault took place near the corner of Pedro Noguera and Billiken streets, two blocks from Plaza Fray and five from the border with the city of Libertad, in the Padua Sur neighborhood, in the early hours of Thursday, January 6.
The officer involved belongs to the Federal Intelligence Department against Organized Crime (PFA) and was dressed in civilian clothes when he was suddenly approached by a red and black Twister with two thieves on board, who got on the sidewalk with clear intentions of stealing his belongings.
The sources consulted indicated that the passenger got out holding his waist to indicate that he had a weapon, so the victim identified himself as a member of the force dependent on the Ministry of National Security and took out his service pistol (a Bersa TPR9 with a caliber of nine millimeters) to defend himself.
This is how the third assistant fired a total of five times at both criminals: the driver tried to take the road again and fell dead almost instantly, while his accomplice tried to flee on foot and managed to go around the block, but died 150 meters away.
The case is in the hands of the Functional Investigation Unit (UFI) number 1 of the Judicial Department of Morón, in charge of prosecutor Adriano Corso, who did not take action against the officer and discovered that the vehicle used by the criminals had an active seizure order for having been stolen on 17/01 in that same area.
