The fire consumed a large part of the interior of the premises and the causes are still unclear. The Hurlingham Fire Department prevented it from spreading to other businesses.
A worrying and dangerous fire occurred yesterday afternoon in the center of the city of William Morris, north of the Hurlingham district, which did not become serious thanks to the rapid intervention of the local Volunteer Fire Department and the alert of the neighbors of the area.
The fire broke out in a taxi company located on Planes street at 1,800, between Potosí and Andrés Arguibel and around the corner from the homonymous station of the San Martín Train, and had the intervention of a team from the central headquarters, which mobilized the fire truck called “H21” there.
Since the fire started inside the aforementioned building, the agents had to bring special equipment to be able to enter and fight it more closely with the risk of it spreading to the neighboring businesses, although fortunately this did not happen and no injuries were reported. However, the premises called “Luján” was badly damaged and the causes are still unclear.
About five months ago, a bus that was traveling on Avenida Gobernador Vergara at 2,500, between Wolf Schcolnik and Sargento R. Castillo streets and meters from the Leopoldo Marechal Cultural Center, began to catch fire when the clock struck 7 in the morning.
It was bus number 168 of the Empresa del Oeste Sociedad Anónima de Transporte (EDO SAT), which at that time was carrying out its regular service in the direction of the municipality of San Miguel and was rendered unusable due to the intensity of the fire.
