The local government, through the Secretary for the Elderly, continues with the free ophthalmological assistance program. With medical consultations, vision measurements and delivery of glasses, these operations seek to improve the quality of life of the district’s retirees.
The ophthalmological assistance operations continue to be carried out in La Matanza, and on this occasion more than 400 retirees were treated at the Retirement Centers Volver a Vivir (Villa Luzuriaga) and Nueva Era (Gregorio de Laferrere).
The checks include a medical consultation, precise vision measurement with a technical professional and the choice of the frame of the glasses, for their subsequent delivery. All absolutely free of charge.
These operations are part of the Municipality’s ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of senior citizens, according to Marisa Guerín, Secretary for the Elderly of La Matanza.
In addition, four other similar meetings are planned in other localities to reach a total of more than 1,200 senior citizens served in this first stage of the year.
In this way, the Municipality is managing appointments with retirement centers throughout the district so that they can access these free medical services.
The care of senior citizens is a priority for the Municipality, which continues to work to guarantee access to health services at no cost, providing concrete responses to retirees to improve their quality of life.
