PFA. Agents from the Fugitive Search Division, during an investigation supervised by the Ministry of National Security, arrested a man who was wanted by national and international authorities for the crime of sexual abuse and corruption of minors.
He had been on the run from justice since November of last year, after it was proven that he had sexually assaulted his two granddaughters, aged only 6 and 9, between 2018 and 2022, when they were in his care in a house in the La Matanza district.
This case was initiated following the request of the Court of Guarantees No. 4 of La Matanza, in charge of Dr. Fernando Pino Guevara, Secretary of Dr. Gonzalo Filiguera, who entrusted the federal officers with the location and apprehension of the subject who was being intensively sought.
From that moment on, the uniformed officers began to carry out arduous field work and analysis of the information available at that time, with the aim of determining his whereabouts.
As the investigations progressed, various data were obtained that were later compared with the assistance of the personnel of the Biometric Systems Division of the PFA. In this way, the possible addresses that the accused could frequent were located, linked to a close friend in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Mataderos.
With the consent of the acting judiciary, the uniformed officers implemented a discreet surveillance in the area, managing to capture the accused in the public street on Carhué street at 2100 in the City of Buenos Aires, while he was leaving one of the addresses investigated.
The detainee, a 68-year-old Argentine, was placed at the disposal of the National Criminal Court of Rogatory Matters, in charge of Dr. Gabriel Guirlanda, Secretary of Dr. Gustavo Macci, for the crime of “Seriously outrageous sexual abuse aggravated by being committed by the person in charge of the custody in conjunction with aggravated corruption of minors.”
