Carlos Orsingher, secretary of the HCD of La Matanza, detailed the procedure that will be carried out to define the next representative of the citizens of Matanza.

At the beginning of the interview, the leader explained that “the public defender to be elected has to be presented by a councilor, several neighbors are presenting themselves to be the public defender, we want the call to be broad so if these neighbors do not have a councilor to represent them, our space will surely support them for the call.”

Regarding the capabilities that must be presented by whoever wants to occupy the position, he pointed out: “The Permanent Special Commission will be in charge of confirming the shortlist. The shortlist will be defined according to the knowledge where the candidate will be able to express why he wants to be the public defender, what his proposals are and what is the capacity he has to be able to develop them.”

“The vote for who will be elected has to win by two thirds of those present in the room,” continued the secretary of the HCD of La Matanza.

In turn, he raised fundamental questions for the election of the same: “If the two thirds are not achieved, the vote will be put back into consideration, if it continues to be negative, there will be a recess and there will be a conversation with the presidents of the blocks to see if an agreement can be reached.”

In addition, he added that there is no term limit for the ombudsman, the position for which he holds it is indefinite, that is, he can present himself as many times as he wants to extend the position. It should be noted that Silvia Caprino is the current ombudsman in the District.

In closing, Orsingher asked how the relationship is with the councilors of all the blocks: “So far this year, beyond the ideological differences that are insurmountable, the relationship with the other councilors is going well, as long as it is with respect and consideration.”

“In addition, the secretary is always available to the councilors. The ordinary sessions will be extended until December 30, as they are every year,” concluded the secretary of the La Matanza City Council.
