On the radio program, we spoke with Delfina Patiño, representative of the HIJOS association of La Matanza, who repudiated the government’s actions with the genocidaires arrested for crimes against humanity

Victoria Villarruel’s statements
At the beginning of the talk, Delfina Patiño was asked about the vice president’s statements that assured that all the Montoneros should be imprisoned for bloodying the nation: “The truth is that it does not surprise me, it is the hobbyhorse with which she became known. Here the only state terrorism was the one that came from the state. She is a lawyer and she cannot say what she said so lightly and have no one from the other side tell her that what she said was wrong.”
“She has no authority to reopen any type of case like the ones she announced and it is known that all the cases that were started had convictions and those that could not be started are because they are proscribed crimes, they are not crimes against humanity,” he added.
He then mentioned that “here the only terrorist that there was was committed by the state and she does not say it. She is not innocent, she does not say it because she does not recognize it, that is what happens with this lady” and that “today she presides over a senate and in the time of the dictatorship it was closed and shut down.”
“All constitutional guarantees were violated and the de facto government created a commission of legal advisors that was made up of the gentlemen of the forces and not by deputies or senators,” he added.
He then insisted: “That is where the decrees and laws of the government of the dictatorship came from. She is a senator elected by the people, she has to honor that. That is democracy, not what she defends. For me, it is not worthy of being where it is since it does not claim what democracy is and if it does so with a military government like the last one.”
The warning of the association
Regarding the role of the organization, she maintained that “we are not sitting on our hands, we are open and attentive to all human rights organizations” that “we are all a collective of lawyers, we are in court and attentive to every step that wants to violate what we knew how to build, which is this social pact. We can have a lot of differences but there is something that has already been said. Never again is never again.”
“It was demonstrated with the attempt of the 2×1, there the court had to act and a million and a half people came out to repudiate. We do not want free genocides, so with this it is the same. These are cases that are prescribed, they cannot be investigated. As the daughter of a missing mother and father, I do not know what happened to them and I do not know if they did something because they were not judged”; she pointed out.
He added that “we also have to highlight that those who burst in did not have the power to judge anyone at that time” because “the country was immersed in a totally illegal situation, it was a coup d’état and no one had authority for anything. That is another discussion that we also have to have.”
At the end of the first part, he explained the government’s intentions: “The plan is not working because it is crude. Pretending that the genocidaires who are in prison go home has no basis. They cannot do it by a law or by a decree, that has to be decided by the justice system. There are many genocidaires under house arrest, in fact the minority is in a common prison and they are the ones who are in good health. In the photos I saw very healthy people. It is very clear that the intention is to free them and that there is a cloak of impunity for everything.”
