Regarding the incidents that occurred, Nora said: “You realize that Bullrich is congratulating the governor of Corrientes while her energy is focused on repressing older adults so that we do not demonstrate against Milei and Macri’s veto of the mobility law and to defend the fund that Milei manages at the expense of retirees”

“They already hit us several times without any kind of consideration, but showing how far a regime in decline is capable of sinking by hitting older, defenseless people. In other words, those who resort to repression so that we are not heard, so that we are not known that they are stealing from us with pensions, pensions that we have paid for all our lives and that the citizens have paid for through taxes.”

He also added: “They are not giving us anything. These people are sitting there in those positions because these old people fought against the dictatorship at the time. And so that we could really express our ideas. If not, none of these people would be sitting there”

The anti-picket protocol

Regarding the repression at the door of Congress, Nora said that “there was a jubilation, undoubtedly, because when we called against the veto and there was so much anger regarding this theft from retirees, which means that they don’t pay you 17,000 pesos in the next paycheck or a little more, if you have a little more than the minimum, fights were generated”

“In Buenos Aires it is very noticeable because the concentration was of retirees, union organizations, unemployed people, student centers, neighborhood assemblies had come, that is, it overflowed what we always call for on Wednesdays, as was logical, because apart from that, if the government takes a measure, which is to veto a law that gives us a small benefit, well, you also take responsibility for what you believe. You yourself came out to say that we are degenerate prosecutors. And that is what Milei, Macri, and Bullrich do not want to be reflected in the street, and that is why they went out to repress,” she said.

Nora explained the most dramatic moment: “We were on Rivadavia, because the mobilization was huge, we were speaking at the event, everyone crowded together, and these nervous guys who want to maintain street order to guarantee their own businesses push, and when they push, they repress, but it was not only at the event, then when we were marching towards Plaza de Mayo, at the back of the march they repress again with sticks, they split open a comrade’s head, tear gas in our faces, well, even worse than what had happened at the time of the event.”

“In older people, our chances of healing wounds is lower, that is, it is not a joke. Then another colleague fell when she saw the police advancing, she tried to cross the street and tripped, she fell, 10 stitches in the head, then the gas, which hit several people, you saw that it has consequences at the time, it is as if it were a burn, but then you have to see how it affects the respiratory organs and the skin, because each one of us has our own thing on us,” she described.

A society in support of retirees

“There was already a climate of “no with retirees”, that is quite generalized, there are even colleagues who put up a sign saying “I am a retiree in struggle” and the bus drivers let them get on for free. There is a social movement in support of retirees that is growing more and more. We ended up arriving at the Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada, at the gates of the Casa Rosada, and for many comrades, not only the retirees who were marching, of which there were many, but other comrades accustomed to mobilizing, this is an important fact, to have reached the gates of the Rosada, because in other mobilizations they put up the fence before you.”

“There is a popular movement that is being expressed in the signatures against the veto, which we are collecting, we want to collect a million, we are pressuring the deputies and senators so that if the veto is passed they do not turn back, we went to the CGT to demand a general strike and also to the CTA, we are waiting for a response from the labor unions, this cannot be left like this,” Nora emphasized.
“We want to collect the money that is extremely necessary, which is 17,000 pesos, we want the money that is owed to the provinces to be paid, because this guy confiscated the social security money that has to go to the provinces and he doesn’t pay it, and we want the sentence to be paid because people die in trials due to recalculation, do you understand? That’s how it is, you have to pay Milei, because it’s the law. He has to pay, he’s the one who is a criminal and a degenerate,” she said about the president.
