In the second part of the interview, Carlos Gdansky analyzed the opposition and mentioned the current governor of the Province of Buenos Aires as a leader of Peronism.

The Previous Government

Continuing with the analysis of the current political context, the former national deputy said: “Let’s not forget that we didn’t come from an economically good government like Peronism was in the past. The problem of hunger existed, the economic issues were there, we had debts, and people were not at all happy.”

“On the other hand, there is also a large portion of Argentine society that has become accustomed to being haters, no matter what. Some TV channels have driven people absolutely crazy; I believe they can no longer stand watching political shows, they are tired of it,” he added.

At the same time, he stated, “We contribute a bit; we always stand out in Peronism by presenting some figure that puts us in trouble.”

He also referred to the current situation of former President Alberto Fernández: “This is a terrible shock for everyone because, honestly, with Alberto Fernández’s face, the last thing anyone would believe is that he would commit such a terrible act if he did. Justice will have to prove it, but of course, this woman Fabiola is the victim. We always have something to show that we say we will be the best and end up being the worst.”

The Opposition in Congress

On the other hand, in response to a question from the panel, the former union leader was harsh with the deputies: “Margarita Stolbizer’s abstention is similar to the left, not because I have anything particular against them, as there are many well-known individuals I met there who are very good leaders and defend their colleagues well, but abstaining is ultimately giving the vote to the worst, to the one proposing the worst things. With abstention, we end up eating up many who we shouldn’t.”

“And we must also consider that there are some men and women in the chamber and in many other places who have turned into political mercenaries. They live speculating, not only inside the chamber but in many places such as a municipality or a governorship,” he criticized.

He added, “There are many people who dedicate themselves to that; they are mercenaries because we see some young women who say unbelievable things. It’s hard to believe that there are new deputies who don’t know how they got there.”

“I love debates and I always have, so I watch the sessions, but it’s unbelievable the level of precariousness in the mentality of many who are sitting there and who got there because people voted for them. But they were put there because there was no other choice,” he said.

A Leader in Peronism

In the final part of the interview, Gdansky dared to profile a future name within the movement: “In reality, the only one I see who has positioned himself and has had a conviction and continues to lead with that conviction related to Peronism is Kicillof. He is the only one I see stepping up. Of course, there must be another leader, but I see him.”

“Today, the only one who is seen with specific weight, with structure, with movement, and who knows about economics, which is important, is Kicillof, in my opinion,” he concluded.
