Paulenko. No Te Duermas spoke with journalist Juan Paulenko about the current political developments in the province of Buenos Aires.

“We’re just days away from the official announcement of a single CTA (Central de Trabajadores de la Argentina) at the national level. Meanwhile, in some districts, things are moving along very well.
They’ve been visiting the governor, and considering that many workers in the province of Buenos Aires are aligned with this workers’ union, they’ve been analyzing possible salary increases, projections for 2025, and especially bringing support to the province of Buenos Aires in its claim for co-participation funds, which the national government under Milei is currently denying. I believe the CTA is weighing a potential backing. I think Kicillof’s candidacy in 2027 will happen.”
Regarding Kicillof’s inner circle, Juan said, “First, Cristina prioritized her inner circle of allies and friends. Then, at the last minute, she opened up a bit to allow some of Kicillof’s people to join, but it seems that, clearly, the majority are still aligned with Kirchnerism.”
Possible Changes for Bullrich and Adorni
“It’s not the first time that Patricia Bullrich has been rumored to leave the Ministry. There have also been talks about other roles. The Milei government clearly has a limited number of people who, from Milei’s perspective, are working very well. Patricia Bullrich is one of them, in Milei’s view. So, what’s happening? Bullrich is also looking at her political future. Why? In Buenos Aires City, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta has a closed deal with Martín Lousteau, and apparently, Horacio would run for senator from that sector, which would be a UCR sector with its allies, including Horacio Rodríguez Larreta,” he clarified.
“Macri, from what’s being said, is also closely watching Bullrich’s moves because, let’s face it, no one wants to lose influence. So, the PRO party benefits both Bullrich’s camp and the libertarians if Patricia ensures a place in the National Senate. Otherwise, the alternative would be to sacrifice Karina Milei, because right now, Milei doesn’t have a heavy hitter to lead the senatorial list,” he added.
“The issue is that there’s a risk. I think it’s unlikely now, but if it’s Mauricio Macri, anything can happen. Well, Patricia, quick to react, has already suggested she could leave the Ministry of Security, and warned that Macri might appoint Ritondo. No, she’s proposing Diego Valenzuela, the Mayor of 3 de Febrero. Notice that it’s a risky move for Diego Valenzuela. He’ll have to take a leave of absence from his mayoral duties, leaving behind a very well-managed job to step into a high-pressure role. Valenzuela is going all-in,” he explained.
The Ministry of Security
“Anything could explode: Bracamonte, a terrorist attack, a national security issue, or social unrest — and you’re out. From the information I have, there’s a lot of concern and attention these days around the football match between Boca Juniors and the National Team, with protests in Buenos Aires City and the Province. The impact of the potential news coming out today at noon regarding the Cristina case could play a significant role.”
“I think Valenzuela is a soldier for the cause. I estimate that, privately, he won’t be thrilled about this move, but what’s his play? Finish his term well in 3 de Febrero, which is also considered a politically ‘hot’ area, and if possible, aim for the governorship. If not, he’s got the vice-presidency guaranteed, as a candidate,” he argued.
Adoptions in Moreno
Regarding adoptions in Moreno, Paulenko shared, “When I was editing the news, I thought it was interesting that a municipality like Moreno is getting attention for this, as these issues don’t get much press. It’s a reality that’s not widely discussed. In this case, there are 103 children, minors and adolescents, who are in a situation of adoptability and waiting for a family. Of course, this isn’t widely publicized. Moreno has already started making strides in this area. I’ve been given data showing that from 2020 to 2023, Moreno successfully placed 12 children in families, while this year, they’ve already placed 15 children and are aiming for more.”
