On December 30th, it will be 20 years since Cromañón and in Merlo they will hold a tribute for victims and survivors. Below, more details via Diario NCO.
As in previous years, the Subsecretariat of Youth of Merlo announced that they will hold a tribute for the 20th anniversary of the Cromañón tragedy to “remember the children who were victims and survivors” and will place a commemorative plaque.
The event will be this Saturday, December 28th from 5 pm in Plaza Los Ángeles, located on Cámpora and Rodríguez Peña, in front of School No. 8. The organization announced that there will also be live bands: La Revolución de los Duendes, La Nave, Vidas Desprolijas and Makondo Rock.
More than a month ago, Prime Video launched the series about the tragedy that left 194 dead and at least 1,432 injured. This fire marked a before and after in rock concerts.
After this, flares were banned in closed places, they were only allowed in open places but then they reversed this, and they also forced the organizers to respect the capacity of the public allowed in each space.
The synopsis advances: “This dramatic series follows a group of teenage friends whose lives were altered by the real events surrounding the fire that occurred at the República Cromañón club in Buenos Aires in 2004.”
The story is told from the perspective of Malena (Olivia Nuss), a 19-year-old girl who dreams of becoming an artist. On the night of the fire, Malena attends the concert of her favorite rock band with her friends, not knowing that she will lose many of her loved ones at that event. Four years later, he returns to his childhood neighborhood to reconcile with the past and overcome the guilt he feels for having survived the fire,” concludes the synopsis.
