The Ministry of Security announced a reward of $5 million pesos for information that leads to the location of three men accused of the murder of Jennifer Campos Calle, a 13-year-old teenager who lost her life during a violent robbery in her home, in January 2024. The crime, which occurred in the town of Virrey del Pino, shocked the community and the entire country.
The official resolution, issued by the Ministry of Security, details that the amount will be awarded to those people who provide useful information to find the whereabouts of the fugitives. It is also clarified that those who collaborate must have been unaware of the crime.
The free line 134, of the National Rewards Program, is enabled to receive information, guaranteeing the confidentiality of those who communicate.
The murder of Jennifer Campos Calle occurred on January 18, 2024, around 9:35 in the morning, while the teenager was having breakfast with her family at home. Three men, identified as José Armando Fernández Sosa, alias “Mimi” (27 years old), Germán Sergio Benítez Atienza, alias “Anteojito” (38 years old), and Gabriel Molina (38 years old), entered the house with the intention of robbing her.
According to the investigation, the attackers intimidated and subdued those present, but when the family resisted, one of them fired a shot that hit Jennifer in the chest. The wounds were fatal, and the teenager died on the spot. After the crime, the men fled in a white Peugeot 208.
The resolution also indicates that Gabriel Molina had acted as external support. His vehicle, a Renault 19, had been used to monitor the surroundings and facilitate the escape of the other suspects.
Reward and search for justice
The Government ordered a reward of $5 million for each of the three fugitives, who have national and international arrest warrants. In addition to being accused of Jennifer’s murder, they face charges of aggravated robbery with the use of weapons, illegal possession of firearms and illicit association.
The resolution emphasizes that the three men are charged with “aggravated homicide criminis causae,” a figure that increases the penalty when the murder is committed to guarantee the consummation of another crime or the impunity of its perpetrators.
The three accused have criminal records and are fully identified:
José Armando Fernández Sosa, alias “Mimi” (27 years old), born in Paraguay on March 19, 1997.
Germán Sergio Benítez Atienza, alias “Anteojito” (38 years old), born in Paraguay on June 19, 1986, also identified with a Paraguayan identity document.
Gabriel Molina (38 years old), born in Paraguay on February 27, 1986.
Since January 2024, Fernández Sosa and Benítez Atienza have had international arrest warrants, while Molina was included on the list in August of the same year. The $5 million reward is intended to be an incentive to break the silence and obtain information that will lead to finding those responsible.
