The loot was $50,000
A 28-year-old woman was arrested, accused of committing several crimes under the “black widow” method. Her latest victim was a retiree and former construction businessman, whom she drugged and stole a significant sum of money from his home.
Denise S., a 28-year-old woman from Merlo, was arrested by the La Matanza police, accused of committing several crimes using the “black widow” method. Her latest victim was a retiree and former construction businessman, whom she drugged and stole $50,000 from his home.
The case came to light when one of the retiree’s children arrived at his house and found him lying on the floor, covered with a blanket, with a visible blow to his head. The man was immediately taken to a health center, where doctors confirmed that he had been drugged with a psychoactive drug. In addition to the money, Denise also took the retiree’s phone.
However, conversations on the victim’s WhatsApp account were key in tracking down the suspect. Investigators used technological tools to trace Denise. Through Google Lens, they identified her photo posted in an online ad on the Skokka website, a platform frequented by sex workers. Under the alias “Bella,” Denise offered explicit content and services.
Following the trail, the agents determined that she lived in Merlo. The woman was arrested while visiting a client. During the operation, they seized clonazepam pills, a medication she may have used to drug her victims, along with other items linked to the case.
The fate of the loot
According to investigations, Denise may have used part of the stolen money to undergo aesthetic procedures, including breast implants and an abdominal liposuction. However, the whereabouts of the rest of the money remain a mystery.
The term “black widow” is used to describe women who seduce their victims, then drug them and rob them. In this case, Denise allegedly used her activity as a sex worker to gain the retiree’s trust and carry out the plan.
The case is being handled by the UFI N°11 of La Matanza, which continues investigating if there are more victims linked to Denise. This case highlights the dangers associated with the “black widow” method and the use of substances to commit crimes, alerting society about the importance of taking precautions when interacting with strangers.
