You Heard it on “No Te Duermas”

Laura Greco. This was the statement made by Laura Greco, councilor for Cambiemos La Matanza, as she distanced herself from the policies of the Milei administration, expressed concerns about her relationship with her political space, and emphasized her commitment to dialogue in order to find solutions for the people.
At the beginning of the conversation, Greco stated, “We notice huge differences compared to the beginnings of PRO, when they had altruistic ideas for the people. From our bloc, we agree that we are in these positions for the people, and in fact, we must protect them, which is not happening.”
“The reality is that this national government promised to wipe out the elite, and it’s only punishing the people, and much more in La Matanza. I joined PRO in 2014 because I thought there were things that needed to change. I got involved after one of the visits Macri made to my home when he came down to La Matanza,” the interviewee explained.
She also emphasized the lack of greater leadership presence in the region: “I decided to get involved. It was during the time of Racanelli and Lampa in PRO in La Matanza. After all this time, I feel like we’ve been abandoned. When it’s campaign time, they look for us to tour La Matanza, and once they achieve their objectives, they disappear.”
“La Matanza is forgotten by some politicians.”
Continuing with the conversation, she was self-critical about her own political space: “La Matanza is forgotten by some politicians, and it’s only visited when votes are needed. Today, I think we are more aligned with the neighbors; there is no specific political reference. We were chosen by the people. There is no leader telling us what to do and what not to do.”
“Today I can say that I’m still in PRO, but I have many differences. When my mandate ends, I will choose, and if I have proposals, I will stay with whoever doesn’t abandon the people, who helps lift them out of structural poverty,” she continued.
She also opened a door for dialogue and consensus with the Peronist movement: “I couldn’t say that I’m far from Peronism. I share many thoughts with the traditional Peronists, not with those who have new ideas that don’t benefit the people.”
“I’ve never stopped supporting the people.”
In the final part of the interview, she expressed her opposition to the PRO-Milei alliance at the national level: “I’ve never stopped supporting the people. At the time, I was with PRO because no one from Peronism came to speak to me, although I see that today, PRO is doing things I don’t agree with. It’s very concerning that they have allied with Milei, who is surrounded by the elite.”
“The worker is being forgotten. You can’t build a country if people can’t sustain themselves. Many children go to soup kitchens, and this clouds any decision that can be made for the people,” the leader pointed out, who has a mandate until December 10 of next year.
She also urged that people should not be forgotten: “Everyone seeks to ‘be’ in a political space, but you can only achieve that thanks to the people, not by stepping on those next to you. There is a very uncertain path in La Matanza.”
“The situation has worsened. People are asking for education and security, but they also ask for jobs, even medicine. There are many people who can’t afford to buy medication. I call the people in my agenda, but I get no answers, and there are many needs,” the interviewee concluded.
