“There is manipulation of the Argentine judicial system that comes from various governments.”

At the start of the interview on No Te Duermas, Vanina Biasi addressed the case of the former president: “It’s all very delirious and harmful because obviously, Cristina Kirchner will face a trial, and the Argentine state will have to pay dearly for this arbitrariness and mismanagement by the government, which is trying to politically discipline by implementing measures that are not even within the president’s constitutional powers.”

“It’s all very crude. The Left Front is against all privileged pensions; they have stated this several times. These are special regimes enjoyed by certain sectors of this country, including, for example, judges,” she expanded.

She also emphasized that “it’s very important to note that the government is using this to carry out a specific policy against one or two individuals who receive this pension, but not against the others,” adding that “this shows the arbitrariness at play, the disregard for existing legality, and the use of state resources and the president’s status to carry out actions that are outside his scope of authority.”

The Repeal of Privileged Pensions

In line with the above, and in relation to the Left Front’s stance, she stated: “We believe that all privileged pensions should be repealed, but they cannot take action solely against one or two individuals, like Amado Boudou. I think this is part of the political tricks of a government that tries every day to keep us distracted with these political measures, so that we don’t focus on the real economic issues affecting the majority of the population.”

“And the problem is also to create points of hatred, of fights within society, to keep senseless political debates alive, rather than having the people focus on the government’s actual policies. So, this is a political maneuver by the government,” she added.

At the same time, she pointed out that “this will obviously have a repercussion, I’ve already seen some factions in Congress that will try to challenge the government on this issue, touching on interests they don’t want to touch.”

“The Government is an Ally of the Judiciary”

At the end of the interview, Biasi criticized the current administration under Javier Milei: “What needs to be highlighted is that the government, for example, is an ally of the judiciary and tries to protect its interests. No one has heard Milei say a single word about the multiple privileges the judiciary enjoys.”

“I speak from a completely critical perspective regarding Cristina Kirchner in relation to the trial. I believe there is a case of persecution against her, of course, but that doesn’t negate the fact that there has been theft from state funds and embezzlement,” she added.

To conclude, she stated: “Nevertheless, I think this is not the exclusive domain of Kirchnerist governments but of all governments. We can see this in the open cases involving Mauricio Macri,” and “there is a selective approach where some individuals face trials while others don’t. There is manipulation of the Argentine judicial system.”

“And the first ones who didn’t want to touch the privileges of the judiciary were the Kirchnerists themselves,” she concluded.
