This is how Guillermo Romero, a member of the Retirees Movement, expressed himself regarding the claim of his sector to ask for the immediate restitution of the coverage for medicines, diapers and wheelchairs, which the state social work PAMI stopped providing.
At the beginning of the interview he said that “we were concentrated at the door of PAMI (CABA) demanding the medicines that they are taking away from us, oncological medicines for example.”

“It is something incredible what the government is doing with the retirees. At first they did not want to let us in until they had to agree to some delegations of retirees to do so,” said the member of the Retirees Movement.
In addition, he added that “they were received by an employee, not by the administrator. They practically laughed in our faces because they did not give us an answer and only told us that they were not going to give us the medicines.”
Police violence again and the need to go out on the streets

About this, Romero explained: “We went to gather in Plaza de Mayo as always, but the police violently repressed us, two of them were thrown to the ground. One of the retired colleagues began to convulse and had to be rushed to the hospital.”
In turn, he emphasized that they should not give up their fight: “They want to take away rights from workers and retirees, rights that cost a lot to obtain. They take away medicines as if they were luxury items, but rather medicines that save lives.”
Romero confirmed that he will continue the demonstrations on Wednesdays at the Congress annex to demand an emergency increase in pensions to a minimum of 980 thousand pesos.
“Despite being intimidated, we ask people to go out and protest, they are cutting all of our rights equally,” concluded the member of the Retirees Movement.
