Fernando Espinoza participated in the march in support of retirees.

In the framework of the mass mobilization against the presidential veto to the increase in pensions, the mayor of La Matanza and president of the Argentine Federation of Municipalities (FAM), Fernando Espinoza accompanied, together with the vice-governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Verónica Magario, representatives of different Retirement Centers of the district who decided to march to the National Congress to demonstrate against the decision of the President of the Nation and because of the strong crisis they are going through.

During the march, the mayor Fernando Espinoza stressed: “We are here once again, in the Plaza de los Dos Congresos, to support our retirees who are having such a hard time. President Milei’s veto of the increase in pensions is one of the greatest cruelties that have ever been seen in our country.”

“We, in La Matanza, see what our grandmothers, grandfathers and retirees suffer every day,” said Fernando Espinoza and stressed: “So far, we have had to increase food assistance in our soup kitchens by 50 percent; today retirees have to choose between eating and buying medicine, because they even had their PAMI coverage taken away.”

”Today’s retirees made this country great by working all their lives for our country,” said Fernando Espinoza and stressed: “President Milei lied to them during the electoral campaign, he told them that the adjustment would be paid for by the caste and today, nine months into his government, he shows that the real adjustment is being paid for by retirees, and that is a shame.”

For her part, Vice Governor Verónica Magario said: “Retirees today are in a very critical, very difficult situation, not only because of the devaluation, not only because of the loss of their pension but because many cannot even make one of their meals, they do not have dinner, they cannot pay for their medicines.”

To conclude, Fernando Espinoza stressed: “They say that ‘there is no money’, I tell the president that there is money, Milei lowers taxes, personal property for the richest in Argentina, with that money pensions could clearly be increased and grandparents could have a decent life,” and concluded: “In La Matanza and in the province, together with Governor Axel Kicillof, we will always defend and take care of our retirees.”
