During one of the meetings for comprehensive security oversight in La Matanza, Mayor Fernando Espinoza and the Minister of the Province of Buenos Aires, Javier Alonso, highlighted the addition of 100 new patrol cars, police officers, and the ongoing strong municipal investment in advanced technology for the protection of residents.
The Mayor of La Matanza and President of the Argentine Federation of Municipalities (FAM), Fernando Espinoza, held a working meeting with the Minister of Security of the Province of Buenos Aires, Javier Alonso, as part of the periodic meetings to review the state of the prevention and protection policies being implemented in the district.
“We continue to work to provide our residents with greater protection,” said Fernando Espinoza, emphasizing: “The collaborative effort between the provincial Ministry of Security, the Justice system, and the Municipal Government provides significant solutions for crime prevention.”
“Together with Minister Alonso, we supervised the work we have been doing and evaluated the achievements, such as the addition of 100 new patrol cars,” Fernando Espinoza said, adding: “Today, La Matanza has 350 vehicles patrolling its 17 cities, 24 hours a day.”
The Mayor then highlighted: “We will continue to expand the largest security investment in La Matanza’s history, which involves the incorporation of new advanced technologies applied to citizen protection, similar to those used in major cities around the world,” and explained: “With the implementation of more 4K security cameras, 360° domes, and a digital ring closing the city’s entry and exit points, any vehicle with a warrant is quickly intercepted by the Municipal Operations and Monitoring Center (COM); and alerts and immediate arrests are generated through the action of the provincial Ministry of Security.”
The COM of La Matanza features a sophisticated video surveillance system that operates 24/7 and receives alerts from each device distributed throughout the district, maintaining constant communication with security forces for quick and effective resolution.
“Additionally, we have increased the number of personnel working in the district, including officers from the Buenos Aires Police, the Community Police, and the Immediate Tactical Operations Unit (UTOI),” Fernando Espinoza indicated, noting: “With these three forces, we continue to strengthen the security of our people day by day.”
For his part, Minister Javier Alonso stated: “We are deploying new complaint intake offices that will be implemented in the next three months. We also reviewed all criminal intelligence analysis and enhanced patrolling in neighborhoods to advance the fight against organized crime.”
In conclusion, Fernando Espinoza noted: “We are creating significant solutions together. In La Matanza, the care and well-being of families is always our priority.”

Bajo la dirección hasta la actualidad de Oscar Roberto Pettinato, comenzó a emitirse el lunes 7 de septiembre de 1992. El diario tiene su lugar en la historia ya que es el primer medio gráfico de La Matanza en emitirse de forma ininterrumpida de lunes a viernes de forma impresa y los siete días en la web.
Un sello también distintivo es que además de ser un medio de comunicación, Diario NCO es una escuela de periodismo. Incluso, varios de sus integrantes se formaron mientras desarrollaban su vocación. Por este motivo, también abre sus puertas a estudiantes de los primeros años de la carrera, para que puedan definir su estilo, mejoren su nivel de redacción y aprendan la dinámica específica del trabajo de la prensa gráfica.
Al medio le interesa plasmar en sus páginas los mensajes de todas las voces y aunque en el periodismo la palabra “objetividad” está sujeta a controversias, Diario NCO la toma como una inspiración, es por eso que la lleva en su sigla y en su lema.
Esta forma de encarar la profesión llevó a que en el año 2010 fuera reconocido por el Honorable Concejo Deliberante (HCD) de La Matanza como de Interés Municipal y que en 2015, el Observatorio de los Derechos de Las Personas Con Discapacidad de La Nación distinguiera, tanto al diario como a la periodista Melisa Correa, por la intensa labor de difusión de la temática.
