Detectives pretended to be customers of the establishment to arrest the suspect of the murder of Daniel Artola, who was shot in Laferrere while he was going to work.
The Departmental Delegation of Investigations (DDI) of La Matanza of the Buenos Aires Police captured this weekend the main suspect of having killed an officer in the town of Rafael Castillo after a thorough undercover operation inside a barbershop.
The crime took place in the city of Gregorio de Laferrere on December 18 of last year, where Lieutenant Daniel Hildo Artola was approached by a pair of motorcycle thieves who wanted to steal the bag where he kept his uniform, so he tried to resist and at that moment they shot him in the intercostal zone that turned out to be fatal.
From that moment on, the detectives began the investigation to find those responsible, first reaching a man who allegedly sold stolen cell phones and admitted to having a relationship with them. Thus, on February 12, 2025, they managed to find the whereabouts of the motorcycle driver, nicknamed “Caquita” and not accountable for being 15 years old.
For their part, the second person targeted and identified as the material author of the murder was arrested a few days later after confirming that the young man used to frequent a hair salon in the area, which is why one of the agents (who is also a barber) began working there on 2/15 with the aim of finding him.
When the clock struck 9 p.m. on Friday, February 21, the fugitive entered the premises but not before making a sighting of the interior of the premises and the entire block, “as if verifying that no one was following him.”
