As has been happening on the last few Wednesdays, a group of rebellious municipal retirees, as they define themselves, met in the central square of the city of San Justo on Wednesday the 5th, to demand a dignified retirement. On this occasion they had a meeting scheduled with the Undersecretary of Government, Ricardo Fresco.
More than 3 hours of waiting.
Claudia Amor, one of the retirees who participated in the meeting with the official, told the NCO that “after more than 3 hours of waiting with a temperature of 36 degrees, in the Plaza de San Justo and then in the Municipal Palace, since we had been summoned at 10:30 a.m. for an interview with the Secretary of Government and in view of our insistence and refusal to leave the Municipality, we were attended to at 1:40 p.m. This is the second meeting with this official who, once again, had to listen to our complaints.”
What are these complaints?
“We are asking for a fair retirement, we have worked for this Municipality for decades and we deserve to end these indigence-based incomes. We are not asking for alms, we want to receive what is due to us by law (the percentage that corresponds to us from the total salary of the active employee). We want to end the sums in black (which violate the law), and in many cases reduce our retirement by 50%, on the other hand, the bonuses outside the municipal and professional career They should go to the basic so that they are correctly liquidated in our salaries and Christmas bonus. That is why we also support the claim of the active workers, for an emergency increase of 300 thousand pesos to the basic, because that will have a positive impact on our retirement benefits.”
A new meeting.
Finally, the retiree expressed to our media her disappointment because “we are leaving again without a concrete answer, they gave us a new meeting for next Monday at 11 am, this time with the Secretary of Government, Silvia Francese, and Fresco also promised us to speak with the vice-governor, Verónica Magario.” At the same time, Claudia stated: “we are not giving up, we will continue with our claims, coming and mobilizing as many times as necessary.”
