“It was very hard to be face to face with my mother’s murderer”

You heard it in No Te Duermas

Daira Sayavedra, daughter of Sabrina González. This is how Daira Sayavedra, daughter of Sabrina González, victim of femicide, expressed herself about the trial against Antonio José Castellanos, alleged murderer of her mother and awaits a life sentence for the accused.

At the beginning of the talk, she stated that “it was a previous night in which we could sleep very little, those hours of waiting. Finally, I was able to testify as a victim and it was very hard to be face to face with my mother’s murderer, it is difficult to explain with words.”

About what it was like to be face to face with her mother’s alleged murderer, she portrayed: “The murderer did not testify, at no time did he show remorse, he did not utter words, at times he appeared arrogant, laughing at the witnesses, at times he fell asleep.”

“He had a very provocative attitude. The woman said that, on one occasion, she saw a photo in which he was accused of killing a woman and that she should not believe everything she sees on social networks,” the interviewee said.

Daira Sayavedra was 16 years old when her mother, Sabrina González, was murdered by her partner. Since then, José Antonio Castellanos has been charged with the crime for which the sentence will be announced on Friday.

“All the statements were very accurate, it was like putting together a puzzle”

Regarding the arguments of the trial, she revealed that “all the statements were very accurate, it was like putting together a puzzle, everyone agreed that my mother’s murderer was a very violent person with everyone.”

She also gave more details of how the crime against her mother was perpetrated: “She killed my mother and left the body in her house for five days, a fractured skull, bruises on the face, ribs. She beat her to a pulp before finishing killing her.”

Sabrina González was 36 years old when she was murdered in her father-in-law’s house in the town of Virrey del Pino. Her sister-in-law found her after several days without news. The woman, sister of José Antonio Castellanos, went to her father’s house because the man was on vacation, but when she saw the door locked with a padlock, she decided to investigate. Through a back window she could see that the victim was injured.

Later, investigators determined that Sabrina had been stabbed in the back and that the knife with which Castellanos, her boyfriend of 8 months, attacked her was there.

In addition to the murder weapon having his fingerprints, the attack also occurred inside the house of the accused, who called his partner to speak on November 3, 2014 in the house he shared with his family. From what could be determined with the tests carried out, he attacked her there.

“Wanting to claim that he was not the author of the crime does not work, they were alibis that fell apart. The witnesses were very convincing, so we will not need more days to have the sentence,” added the interviewee.

It should be noted that on Friday the sentence for my mother’s murderer will be read. “We asked for life imprisonment and the closest thing to that is that he be sentenced to life imprisonment,” concluded Sayavedra.
