At the beginning of the column in No Te Duermas, Juan Paulenko referred to the anniversary party for the 126 years that the Deportivo Morón club celebrated: “It was a great event for one of the oldest entities in the sports field, the Deportivo Morón Club, which has on its board of directors an old journalist like Andrés Linares, a prominent man in the Buenos Aires media.”
“The celebration was attended by Mayor Lucas Ghi, among other things. It also had music and raffles, but here the interesting thing was the words of the mayor when he said that both a large institution like the Deportivo Morón club or a small neighborhood institution, the Municipality has it registered in the Institutional Strengthening Fund,” he added.
He also said that “it is a Fund that allows clubs to help in important tasks such as being able to clean up finances, to be able to build, to be able to maintain or, failing that, to be able to equip the different subcommittees with elements and so on.”
“There are institutions that do not have balls to train, they do not have shirts. There are hockey teams, which are so fashionable today, that the goalkeepers’ clothing costs a lot. To travel, you have to do raffles or the parents have to pay for it, the clubs today cannot guarantee you the buses to go to the competitions,” he added.
The presentation of the balance sheet in Hurlingham
Regarding what happened in another region of the Province, he indicated: Damián Selci presented to the press a calm, happy balance sheet, despite the difficult year and he even hit the government of the Province with a stick. He is a man of La Cámpora and among other things he said that they moved with their own funds because the Province did not give the funds they wanted. He also hit Milei of course, he made him responsible.”
“He also talked about security, he said that he had only 9 patrol cars and now there are 34, he talked about there being 15 new motorcycles, 56 police officers. In cleaning and lighting he said that 40 percent of the lights were already compromised or worn out and 6,100 lights were replaced. A separate paragraph for the San Bernardino Hospital because he says it was very deteriorated and with funds from the municipality they were able to improve the intensive care area and so on,” he continued.
He also stressed that “in the educational area, he said that 71 schools were repaired” and that “I sense that there was a mix of funds but they got angry with the provincial government because other districts receive more from co-participation.”
On the other hand, he briefly referred to the party that will take place in Ituzaingó: “It celebrates 29 years of autonomy. They will begin on Friday and continue with the main event on Saturday in the Plaza 20 de Febrero, Soler and Zufriategui, with free admission. At 7pm you will be able to see the Santiago music group Pueblo Chacarera and at night the Cordobans from Banda 21. Alberto Descalzo, the current mayor, will be there.”
The funds that La Matanza receives
To close, Paulenko said: “Everyone says quietly, both government supporters and opposition, that it is impossible to govern La Matanza. There are two options, either you give it the same money that you give to Santa Fe, Mendoza or Córdoba for being the fifth province; or you give it more hierarchy like the City of Buenos Aires.”
“But they are not going to do this because they are afraid that Matanza first wants to be a province and then they want to put a president in it. The PJ needs a united Matanza because if they divide it into four, at least, they are going to lose two cordons. And they pay that political cost,” he concluded.
