It was a first half to forget in Avellaneda. El Rojo, who had just beaten Godoy Cruz in the Argentine Cup with Santiago López as a standout figure, could only enjoy a handful of minutes on the field: in a hurry to get a ball at full speed, he stepped on Paulo Díaz and was sent off early.

Atlético knocked down Racing in Tucumán
Atlético Tucumán dispatched this Sunday with a 1-0 victory over Racing at the Monumental José Fierro, for the 13th date of the 2024 Professional League, and was located two points from the top occupied by Vélez after overcoming another candidate.
Gustavo Costas’ team tried to go for everything in the first half and even achieved an interesting rhythm of arrivals at the beginning, with Juanfer Quintero putting Tomás Durso in trouble with a free kick and with two attempts at Olympic corners. Roger Martínez also had it twice, first losing to Durso and then with a deflected header. The dominance was only interrupted by a shot from Álvaro Brandán that Gabriel Arias deactivated.
Until the 29th minute, shortly after the shoulder injury that took Agustín García Basso out of the game, the Flea Luis Rodríguez rubbed the lamp with a filtered pass to Renzo Tesuri; he snubbed Facundo Mura and defined with a delicious touch over Arias.
