A neighbor from the town of Ramos Mejía, north of the La Matanza district, expressed his great concern over a building that has been abandoned for several decades in the Lomas del Millón neighborhood and could be in serious danger of collapsing at any moment.
It is located at the intersection of José González Castillo and Almirante Brown streets, a few blocks from the border with the Tres de Febrero district, and at one time it belonged to the Multicrom company, which installed a glue factory there between the end of the 1930s and the beginning of the 1940s.
However, it stopped being used in the last century and has since remained abandoned without any type of maintenance, with the glass breaking little by little and the iron rusting due to erosion over time and rain.
That is why the resident assured that the structure “creaks on days of strong winds” and that last week a piece of masonry fell from the roof onto the sidewalk, although miraculously it did not hit anyone: “I need help to spread the word before it becomes fatal.”
Complaints to the Municipality and warning to the local population. “It is falling apart and despite the complaint filed with the municipal government, the necessary measures are not being taken. The facade is crying out for demolition,” the complainant said on his personal Facebook account.
Other people commented that the Civil Defense Department placed tape to prevent vehicle traffic in the surroundings, but that “someone removed it to get through,” and others said: “Until there is a regrettable accident, they are not going to take measures? What are they waiting for? For the walls to fall on someone?”
